One of the greatest joys of doing what I do is seeing families grow over the years. The kids get to know me a bit and subsequently each session becomes a little more magical.
I’ve known this family for quite some time from my former ‘real job’ as a care aid with Community Living Society. A career I’m so thankful to have had for giving me more of an appreciation for all the simple joys in life and gratitude for things most take for granted. I couldn’t have been happier to hear they were expecting another happy healthy baby girl! I photographed their first daughter about 5 years ago and to look back on those is pretty crazy to see how much BOTH of us have grown! …. I’ll save that for another post though!
They reside in New Westminster and asked for this session to take place on their turf with some of their favorite views as the backdrop. I must admit I RARELY leave Squamish these days. Although it’s growing at a rapid pace I do find the city to be somewhat overwhelming now that my senses have gotten used to the pace of a smaller town and watching for bears and kids on bikes more often than 4 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic and pedestrians on phones going every which way! 🙂 Despite that it was a nice change of scenery and as all photographers know it can be pretty exciting to have a fresh perspective on a location.
