Jaime and Wade came to me last summer all the way from Langley.  They were spending pretty much every weekend commuting to Squamish to enjoy the big winds of Howe Sound on their kite boards and wanted to incorporate their love for the scenery here with the new little love growing in Jaime’s belly.  You can view their maternity session here.   This one will forever stick in my mind, it was September the 7th.  Jaime and Wade don’t even know this….I guess now they will, but we hadn’t had the best luck with weather and Jaime’s due date was fast approaching, so I really didn’t want to re-schedule but when I met them early that dreary foggy drizzly morning.  I had slept about 3 hours over 2 days after driving to Seattle and back.  My grandfather had passed away 4 hours before our session was scheduled to start and I had just confirmed I was pregnant.   Sometimes being an entrepreneur means delaying reactions 😉

Fast forward another month or so…. Jaime and Wade went on to have a gorgeous baby boy and we scheduled their newborn session only to run into more bad luck.   I had just discovered I had a subchorionic hematoma and needed to be on bed rest.  This being my 3rd pregnancy in under a year I didn’t want to take any chances.  SO with great sadness I let Jaime and Wade know I wouldn’t be able to do their newborn session.  They of course totally understood and I referred them to a few photographers in their area who I hoped would be able to take them on short notice.

But it didn’t end there…. after a few weeks of rest things settled down with my pregnancy & I started booking more sessions again.  Shortly after I started feeling better I got another email from Jaime saying she was still disappointed that I hadn’t been able to do their newborn photos and hoped maybe we could try something now that things were better.  I was thrilled to hear it, as a photographer it is such a compliment to have someone love your work enough to want to come back time after time.   I wasn’t sure what to expect with Will being 3 months old at the time of our session, but he was amazing and even let me pose him…well as much as his adorable chubby rolls would allow.   Jaime and Wade have now moved to Squamish to start a new life with their little dude and it is proving itself to be as amazing as I told them it would be.  Welcome to Squamish you three.   Thanks for sticking with me!  I look forward to watching your family grow!
