2017 was pretty great!
….sorry for all of those who posted sad memes bidding good riddance to it. In my books it was pretty alright.
Thinking back I’m a little stunned at how much was packed into just one little year. I traveled 28,904km and 33 days away from home.
That’s a LOT for someone who’s not big on traveling!
Two of those trips being destination weddings, which is ALSO a LOT for someone who doesn’t do weddings!
My time however, did not.
I am still just me. Mom with 2 boys trying to make this thing work.
Drinking FAR too much coffee and Googling to see if my 3 year old really can get by on just Nutri Grain bars and yogurt for 6 months?
I had to ask her to repeat herself. 3x.
Wash the curtains?
I try to conquer ‘Mt.Laundry’ once or twice per week and make something that resembles a healthy meal at dinner more nights than not.
Primarily my goal is to not let the children drown in the tub and remember to wipe the pee off the seat before I sit down.
Wash the curtains? Well we moved in 2010…. so? …… Never?
Never have I washed the curtains.
…but by all means.
With so much growth last year my first priority was to find a better way to keep organized and focus on the things I’m good at, while delegating more of the rest.
Like washing curtains.
Numerous clients at once all in various stages of consultations, contracts, sessions, ordering appointments, album design, retouching & submitting orders, receiving prints, packaging and delivering. Marketing, social media, new inquiries daily, workshops and studio updates. My little notebook, google calendar and my memory have all exceeded their capacity.
It’s no wonder with so much space wasted on 80’s song lyrics.
I’ve started off this year with some new systems. Albeit old school and on paper…. just like my photographs.
All of which will ultimately and most importantly, give my clients a more seamless experience from start to finish.
Grab your own or make sure your friends tell me who sent them so I can add your name to my Rolodex of referrals.
Each friend you refer who books a session gets you a $50 print credit at your next session!
As an added bonus, the person with the most referrals at the end of the year will receive an extra $150 bonus print credit!
Can I just say thanks? Thanks! And MORE thanks!
A firm decision to measure the year by the density of the happiness in each moment
