Without a doubt our kids grow fast.
I have a few clients who come on an annual basis for family portraits, but it’s not uncommon for a few years to pass by before families realize the portraits on their wall are in need of an update.
The days are long but the years are fast, as they say.
There’s thing that happens with kids, occasionally adults but not as commonly I’ve found, and it’s without a doubt my favorite part of photographing them.
This ability to look dead into my camera without any guard.
I’m sure it’s different for everyone, that point when it ends. When we become self conscious of our ‘good side’, or features we don’t like.
Our smiles become a little more forced and it takes a bit more effort to capture that authentic you.
For now though let’s make the most of this time. When they sit down in the middle of all that’s going on and confidently own their little world.
I absolutely love them for it.
These guys are also without a doubt one of my favorite families! I was incredibly sad when they left Squamish for Pemberton a few years back.
They’re the proud owners of Fix Auto Pemberton and while we miss them greatly here, it’s been wonderful to see them living so happily with their business and their home!
